Building Homes and Changing Lives in El Salvador

We believe that everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home. Our mission is to alleviate poverty and pollution in El Salvador by constructing affordable and sustainable homes for families in need. By providing a solid foundation, we aim to empower individuals and communities, creating a pathway towards a brighter future.

Why El Salvador?

El Salvador is a country that faces numerous challenges, including widespread poverty and a housing crisis. The poverty rate in El Salvador is 26.6% but the calculations of what poverty means here is very skewed. Extreme poverty means a family of 3 is living on under $195/month versus relative poverty is living on $389/month.  Now do you think a family of three living on $500/month is not living in poverty? This is why we find the statistic inaccurate for the current cost of living.

Over 1.8 million Salvadorans come from disease-rampant living environments where makeshift homes are made of mud, plastic, and rusty metal situated on land they do not own, with no access to sanitation facilities with plumbing. .

At Blessed are the Flexible, we are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of these families, one home at a time.

If you don't have a safe and comfortable home, how can you truly thrive?

Our Approach

1. Affordable Housing: We believe that safe and decent housing should be accessible to all. Through our partnerships and innovative green building techniques, we are able to construct homes at a fraction of the cost, making them affordable for low-income families.

2. Sustainable Solutions: Our homes are designed with sustainability in mind. We incorporate eco-friendly and recycled materials with energy-efficient features to reduce the environmental impact while lowering long-term costs for homeowners.

3. Community Engagement: We work closely with local communities, involving them in every step of the process. We believe that community involvement is crucial for sustainable change. From planning to construction, we collaborate with community members, providing them with valuable skills and knowledge.

4. Empowerment and Education: Our commitment extends beyond building homes. We provide training and educational programs to empower families to break the cycle of poverty. Through financial literacy, vocational training, and life skills workshops, we equip individuals with the tools they need to create a better future.
